Yes! APEX Live is 100% CRNA owned and operated.

World-class CRNA instructors teach all the course content.

Our courses are prior approved by the AANA for 20 Class A credits and 9.5 credits in pharmacology/therapeutics.

AANA Prior Approval Code Number 1038403; Expiration Date 6/23/2021

As a CPC Review Course, we'll cover the four core domains of the NBCRNA CPC Content Outline:

  • Advanced airway management
  • Human physiology & pathophysiology
  • Clinical pharmacology
  • Anesthesia equipment & technology

We believe that a CRNA review course should be relevant to your clinical practice, so we're going to teach this course through the lens of crisis management case studies. It's going to be engaging, informative, and fun!

We designed APEX Live to help CRNAs pass the CPC Assessment.

While we do not recommend APEX Live as a stand-alone review course for students preparing for the National Certification Exam, APEX Live can provide supplemental value for students who want to layer in a live experience to their board prep plan.

Here's how APEX Live can help:

  • APEX Live is taught through a series of crisis management case studies. This approach will help you connect the dots, so that you'll have an easier time answering higher-order questions on the NCE.
  • You'll get a different perspective from your other review courses.
  • You won't find our world-class instructors anywhere else! Sass Elisha EdD, CRNA, FAAN is the co-editor of Nagelhout's Nurse Anesthesia textbook, and Jeremy Heiner EdD, CRNA is a chapter author. Additionally, Jeremy has served on the NBCRNA SEE item writing committee. Click here to learn more about our instructors.
  • The clinical focus of the course content will give you a head start when you begin clinical practice.
  • Our 20-hour curriculum is spread out over four days. You'll attend class in the morning, and then you'll have the rest of the day to reflect on what you learned or enjoy some well deserved R&R.

How does the NCE (certification exam) differ from the CPCA (recertification exam)?

While there’s a lot of overlap between these exams, the content outline for the CPCA (the recertification exam) is narrower in scope. It includes the four core domains of nurse anesthesia practice:

  1. Advanced airway management
  2. Human physiology & pathophysiology
  3. Clinical pharmacology
  4. Anesthesia equipment & technology

Again, APEX Live only covers the content on the CPCA content outline, so there are some NCE topics that we will not cover. Examples include (but are not limited to) regional anesthesia, pediatrics, obstetrics, chemistry, and physics, to name a few.

These links will help you compare both content outlines:

If you have any questions, email us at [email protected], and we'll be happy to help.

Yes! The student price is $649.

Since you're a student, this price does not include Class A credits for recertification.

APEX Live specializes in live events.

If you're looking for an online course, then we invite you to check out the online courses (including the CPC Core Modules) from APEX Anesthesia Review.

There's a TON of confusion related to the CPC Core Modules, so we're going to dispel all the myths right here.

  • Some CRNAs believe that the CPC Core Modules must be completed through the AANA. This is NOT true. You can choose from several vendors who offer the CPC Core Modules, but the key is that they must be officially recognized by the NBCRNA.
  • While some vendors talk about "Core Module Prep" or use similar terms, they must be officially recognized by the NBCRNA to satisfy the CPC Core Module requirement of the CPC Recertification Program. If you're unsure, then ask the vendor for clarification.
  • According to the NBCRNA, the intent of the CPC Core Modules is to give CRNAs the latest evidence that informs anesthesia practice. The CPC Core Modules are not intended to be a comprehensive review for the CPC Assessment, although some providers may include review content into their offerings.
  • APEX Live is specifically designed to prepare CRNAs for the CPC Assessment.
  • If you're interested in the CPC Core Modules, please check out APEX Anesthesia Review.
